Links to educational clay, pottery, terra cotta and ceramic tile sites:
Another of my interests is antique U.S. ceramic tiles. Below are links to some useful ceramic tile, terra cotta and pottery resources:
Recently I started a website for historic U.S. tile installations. The installations are listed by state. Some installations still exist, others have been destroyed, and some have just disappeared. The website can be accessed at https://sites.google.com/site/tileinstallationdb/.
I am also writing a blog titled "Architectural Tiles, Glass and Ornamentation in New York": http://tilesinnewyork.blogspot.com/.
I published a book about the identification of antique U.S. ceramic tiles at http://tilefieldguide.omeka.net/items. The book can be downloaded as a pdf file (just scroll down the page to "Files", click on the pdf file, and then save to your desktop).
Another website contains articles about ceramic tiles, tile and terra cotta manufacturers, art pottery and architectural glass. It can be accessed at http://tileresearcharticles.omeka.net/items.
The following website contains additional links to American clay and pottery resources, articles and books, including my own. http://www.tfaoi.org/aa/6aa/6aa120.htm
